About us: Lucira Health is a startup striving to transform the way infectious diseases are diagnosed. Lucira Health is the first at-home COVID test authorized by the FDA. Our technology is a single-use, user-friendly COVID test kit that can produce a positive or negative result at home within 30 minutes. This technology bypasses centralized medical lab testing and streamlines patient care. Our current areas of focus include COVID and influenza.

Lucira is a medical technology company focused on the development and commercialization of transformative and innovative infectious disease test kits. Lucira’s testing platform produces PCR quality molecular testing in a single-use, consumer-friendly, palm-size test kit. Lucira designed its test kits to provide accurate, reliable and on-the-spot molecular test results anywhere and at any time. The LUCIRA™ CHECK IT COVID-19 Test Kit (OTC) and LUCIRA™ COVID-19 All-In-One Test Kit (Rx)provide a clinically relevant COVID-19 result within 30 minutes. Lucira CHECK IT also provides access to LUCI PASSTM to provide users an easy way to receive a digital verified test result on their smartphone. 


VP Marketing

This is a leadership role for an experienced marketing professional to create and implement the overall product marketing strategy for existing and future products and digital support platforms. This includes design, implementation and monitoring of strategies and programs that support both B2B and direct to consumer customer markets, support of new product development initiatives and scaling a high performing team. The ideal candidate has successfully launched new healthcare products across multiple channels, built marketing teams from the ground up and has proven leadership skills driving deep cross-functional collaboration and alignment in a fast-paced environment. A successful candidate is an expert communicator٫ driven٫ and a strategic thinker who can put their plans into action. This position will report to the EVP and oversee the marketing function, as well as supporting external consultants and agencies.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of Lucira’s global marketing team and strategy
  • Leadership of Lucira’s marketing team, including supporting the product management structure that anticipates the needs of both B2B and OTC customers, US and globally including digital capability
  • Development and execution of overall business and marketing plans that delivers a clear vision of what is needed to achieve both B2B and OTC, US and global business objectives
  • Establish true voice of the customer channels to refine market requirements and product capabilities
  • Understand and articulate competitive landscape and how to best position product for success
  • Collaborate with Sales leadership to develop appropriate price structures for existing and new products and services with a focus on greater value to our customers
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stake holders in representing the customer needs in new product development projects. Describe market requirements in order to create and position the products to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Oversee the development of marketing budgets, metrics, and measures, including accurate and timely ROI monitoring on all marketing programs
  • Collaboration with cross-functional internal Lucira leadership to support effective growth and promote access to new customer segments
  • Manage external contractors and agencies as necessary to achieve objectives


Experience, Requirements and Attributes:

  • 10+ years healthcare or medical marketing leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Broad experience developing successful marketing strategies across both B2B and direct to consumer customers, US and global markets
  • Able to develop and maintain high alignment across the organization
  • Well-developed executive communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proactive Leadership style with demonstrated ability to take initiative and positively influence broadly across and up the organization
  • Proven ability to hire, train, manage, develop and motivate direct reports
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative skills, able to adapt quickly and find creative ways to change course to accomplish important objectives even as challenges present themselves.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive results.
  • Excellent communication, time management and prioritization skills
